Planning a birthday in Wollongong or the Illawarra? The two questions we hear most at our Unanderra shop are how early to order and what size to get. Here is a simple guide so you can sort the cake once and get back to the party planning.
How far in advance should you order?
- Ready to order cakes: at least 48 hours notice. Pick a flavour from our online range, choose your size and your pickup or delivery date at checkout.
- Photo cakes: 48 to 72 hours notice, so we have time to check your image and prepare the edible print. See our photo cakes.
- Custom designs: around 7 days notice for number cakes, themed and character designs, drip cakes and tiered cakes.

What size birthday cake do you need?
- Mini: serves 4 to 6 people
- Medium: serves 8 to 12 people
- Large: serves 15 to 20 people
- More than 25 guests: go for a tiered cake or two cakes
For a kids party, plan on smaller slices. For an adult milestone where the cake is the dessert, plan on bigger ones.
How much does a birthday cake cost?
Standard birthday cakes start from $55 for a small size. Custom decorated cakes usually range from $90 to $250 depending on size and design. Round photo cakes start from $70 and square photo cakes from $80. Tiered cakes are quoted individually.

We make gluten free, dairy free and vegan birthday cakes. Let us know your requirements when you order so we can plan your cake properly.
Pickup or delivery
Pickup from our shop at Shop 3, 2 Tallegalla Street, Unanderra is free. We also deliver across Wollongong and the Illawarra, including Figtree, Dapto, Corrimal, Fairy Meadow, Port Kembla, Shellharbour, Albion Park and Kiama.
