Your wedding cake is one of the few things on the day that every guest sees and tastes. At Milano Cakes we make wedding cakes from scratch in our Unanderra kitchen for couples across Wollongong, the Illawarra, the Southern Highlands and the South Coast. Here is a clear guide to pricing, timing and what to expect.
How much does a wedding cake cost?
Every wedding cake we make is designed for that couple, so we do not have a fixed price list. Instead, we quote each cake individually based on:
- Number of guests and the number of tiers
- Design and finish, such as buttercream textures, sugar flowers, hand painting or gold leaf
- Flavours and any dietary tiers
- Your venue location for delivery and setup
The easiest way to get an accurate price is to send us a quote request with your date, guest numbers and a photo or two of the style you love.
How far ahead should you book?
Book at least 4 to 6 weeks before your wedding. For weddings in peak season, October to April, 8 weeks notice is ideal. We take a limited number of wedding cakes each weekend so every cake gets the attention it deserves, so popular dates fill up first.
Consultation
Every wedding cake starts with a consultation, where we talk through your vision, venue, guest numbers, dietary needs and budget before we quote.
Flavours
Classic choices include vanilla sponge, chocolate mud, lemon, white chocolate raspberry and tiramisu. More contemporary options include passionfruit, salted caramel and pistachio. Each tier can be a different flavour, which is a great way to please everyone.
Dietary requirements
We regularly make gluten free tiers, vegan tiers, nut free options and dairy free elements, so every guest can enjoy a slice. Just let us know at your consultation.
Delivery and setup
Your cake is baked, assembled and finished within 48 hours of your wedding. We deliver and set up at venues across Wollongong, the Illawarra, the Southern Highlands and the South Coast, and coordinate with your venue and planner so the cake is perfectly placed for the reception.
